Hi,
Have installed HTC Sync v3.0.5551 on a Windows XP SP3 machine, to sync with a HTC Sensation.
Installed under the admin account, but run HTC Sync from a user account against Outlook 2003.
If I fire up HTC Sync on the adminaccount, the People and Calendar options in sync are available and list Outlook, even though I do not use Outlook on this account.
However, if I launchHTC Sync under the user account, both the People and Calendar options are grayed out, Outlook is not listed, and I can not enable teh settings.
This looks like a permissions issue, rather than a problem with Sync (it can connect with the phone and sync files OK). Any suggestions as to how this can be resolved?
try to install outlook first
Thanks, but as I indicated in the original post, Outlook is already installed.
The problem is with the way the HTC Sync installer works, or the tool is structured.
I am have not tried it yet, but I am guessing that I will have to do a fresh install, but this time using the user account, after granting the account permissions to install software and to configure services. This is not the best way to do it.
