I have been getting a lot of LTE to 3G switching issues. Anyone else have this issue? Is this issue going to get fixed with the next update that is going to get pushed out?
I found this posted on the Verizon support forum by a customer, he said to go into the Wireless Settings/Mobile Network menu and uncheck the Data Roaming box and change the Select System from Automatic to Home Only. After you do that, turn the phone off and back on. I did that earlier today and so far it has stayed on 4G and hasn't bounced between 3G and 1X like it has been. If anyone is having issues keeping 4G, you might want to give that a try.
I am pretty much sure this is related to the network rather, than to our phones, since most of TBs having the same issue. Mine was/is cutting in and out, but mostly in my home area, where i have usually 2 bars on 4G network. I even went to my local store, and have them replaced my sim card. That, however, did not help. VZW is aware of this problem, and i am sure, there will be some action taken soon, i hope. Either software update, or "recall"? I have to keep in mind, that LTE is a new or newer network, but TB is their first LTE phone........nothing is being born without pain, that's for sure.
I had this problem for about 10 hours one day and i was in a very strong 4g area. I didn't see hardly and 3G either. I stayed in 1X most of the time and even had times where i had no data connection. With all this said i'm not sure it was a network issue because I have 2 thunderbolts on my plan and the other one had full 4G service the entire time and was in the same room. But I haven't had any issues since.

Hopefully they will resolve the issue with the next firmware push. When it works on LTE or 3G it is fine, just when it crosses over while downloading it hangs and does not know what to do. If it is the network issue, then hopefully by summer it will be resolved. Thanks to everyone for sharing.
I had the same problem after Verizon tech support suggested I install the FREE Task Killer.
I did a Hard Reset yesterday, and problem has stopped.
Also, I think Task Killer is dirty. My gmail account emailed everyone in my people.
