Hello,
I use HTC sync to put music onto my Thunderbolt from ITUNES. Never had an issue with syncing it until last night. I added a few songs to my playlist and wanted to sync it to my phone. I did this and when I went to listen to one of the songs, it comes up as unable to play the format. All my songs on the phone are MP3's. Even songs that were on there from before will not play. I even tried removing the playlist all together off my phone and syncing again and it didnt work. At one point my phone went haywire and the screen went black and the navigation buttons on the bottom started flashing. I turned off the phone and removed the battery. It was turned on OK.
After playing around with it, I did find that if you wait before pressing the play button, after hearing like a click noise, it will play the song. But if you just have it on shuffle or skip to a next song it wont play it.
I dont know whats going on with this. Could it be an HTC sync program problem or something else? Anyone else have this issue?
Thanks
Mel
When I try to use HTC Sync, it doesn't even copy my iTunes over, I had to use the folders option, which didn't copy my album artwork like i was hoping :(
Also, it would be awesome if the HTC Music app listed music by ALBUM artist instead of by artist, because a lot of my CDs have more than one artist for a lot of songs (i.e. XXX featuring YYY and ZZZ)
I finally got HTCSync to at least port my iTunes... it took me several plugs/unplugs and actually creating a playlist that had every single song in my library... so we'll see what happens. If I come across the same prob as you Mel, I'll be sure to let you know, but it sounds to me like it was just one or a few songs that made your phone loopy? Have you tried re-ripping or re-downloading those songs? They may be the right file format, but there may still be something in their encoding that HTCSync or your phone doesn't like.
On some songs it doesnt show any info or a album cover also. I dont understand that. It's even happening on music I ripped from CDs. I am going to try and redo some of the newer songs I added and see if it acts up again.
When i move stuff over to my phone or from my phone to my laptop i dont use any program to do that. I set the phone for "Disk Drive", then plug it into my laptop.
The phone connects and i then open "Explore" on my laptop (right clcik the start button, left click explore). Thru this method i copy and move from where i want to where i want without any issues.
I just used this method to move 748 HD photos to my phone (2.4MB), and it took like 18 seconds. I moved over my music, 7 GB this way also.
Photos went to the photo folder on the phone, music went to the music folder on the phone.
Since i had all these already set up in folders on my laptop, i just moved all folders inside my photo or music folder to the appropriate folder on my phone, its fast and easy to do.
Calender - i set up my google calender on my phone, logged into my google account online and it synced by itself, all my appaintments came over to my phone and my contacts also for email.
Please Tag your post. Holding your finger for maybe 2-3 seconds on items on the phone works in several areas
I have the issue with the album photos not coming over on some of mine, i am looking for a fix for this.
