Is anyone else having the problem of phone rebooting since update? I have talked to Verizon and they say noone has said anything but Android Central forums has plenty of people that has the problem. It is getting to be a bother. Just wondered if anyone knew how to fix it.
Based on their track record, don't hold your breath.
Well actually my ohone hasnt been cutting off within the last couple of days so sonething must be working
At this very moment, 6:42pm cdt., I am downloading the new software update that I pray fixes all the problems. It is taking a while to download though. Seems like a big file. I'll post again as soon as it finishes.
Awesome let me know how it gos hope its not the first update
Awesome
My replacement TB is currently downloading an update. Started July 8th at 1929hrs and still downloading. I will post back once it's done.
Just finished installing and rebooting. Took about 30-35 minutes total. Already I see some cosmetic changes. Now it's time to start playing around to see what it does. :-)
Is it gingerbread
No. It is just the fix for rebooting and some other things.
Just downloaded it on my 3rd TB that just arrived yesterday. So far so good, sucks that Gingerbread is not included.
The 3G symbol has changed. The startup splash screen has about 2 seconds of clouds and sound then goes to a black screen with the Thunderbolt (with lightening symbole) for a 5 seconds. VCAST Apps store gives a could not connect errors. VCAST Videos is back but still doesn't support Wi-Fi connections. Unhappy. The new data widget is pretty nifty. I like that. GPS doesn't feel like it's connecting any better or worse then before. I guess it's a wait and see game now to see if it fixes everything or to find out if it broke something else.
I had the same problem with my Thunderbolt, multiple re-boots a day sometime as many as 7, also the SW update would do nothing after being selected, My solution was to call Verizon and tell them that for what I was paying per month, and that I could not afford to miss calls, they in turn sent me a re-conditioned Thunderbolt (it looked brand new) - the new (re-conditioned) phone has not re-booted once since I have received it on 8 July 2011, and it updates the SW just fine now.
Hope this helps, I know just how frustrating the re-boots can be (were)
ya mine did the same thing so call verizon they are replacing with a new phone so call and they will send you a new phone there is no fix for this just got off the phone with teck support
This was my experience also. Called Verizon and they acknowledged the problem and sent a re-conditioned phone.
