I'm using Windows Vista, and I have my Evo Shift connected to my PC. I've replugged my phone many times, and my phone still can't find HTC Sync even though it is installed onto my PC. It keeps showing the error message saying: "Unable to find HTC Sync on your PC. Please make sure Sync is installed and opened on your computer". I'm doing EVERYTHING it told me to do, but it just won't work! Any help?
I have the same problem. This is awful. Does HTC and Sprint know the definition for testing?
Mine finds the HTC Sync using XP-SP3. On the phone, I do:
Settings
Connect to PC
Default Connect type
HTC Sync
Hopefully that works for you.
I have the same problem
I'm having the same issue with Windows 7. I've heard around the web that you have to manually update the usb driver on a machine running XP. Damnit! Extremely frustrating since the sd card is seated so deep into the phone for syncing information...Bah!
HTC Sync is installed properly on my computer, its just that my shift and my computer are having big time issues talking to each other. No wonder the phone doesn't see Sync and vice versa. Still, this is a really annoying issue and HTC should have the current USB driver for Windows Vista and 7 available for download here!
