When I first connect the data cable I get the "Default Connection Type" screen as described in the manual. I select the "Disk Drive" option and the card is recognized and I can transfer data as it should. After disconnecting, the next time I try to connect I do not get the "Default Connection Screen" and get a "Please insert card message" when clicking on the SD drive (in my case it's drive "F") letter under My Computer on my PC. The drive shows up in the directory but when I click on it I get the error message. I have to take the battery out and do a soft reset and then it works like it's supposed to again. What's wrong? Am I doing something wrong?
Before you disconnect from the PC, do you do "Safely Remove Hardware"? You need to either do that or, on the phone in the charging menu, switch it to charge only, and wait until after it says "preparing SD card" at the top of the screen before disconnecting it. Hope that does the trick for you.
Sorry for being so long to reply, thought I had already.
I had tried all of that and didn't help. Thanks for the suggestion. What I did find that fixed mine was to uncheck the Fast Boot option in the Applications tab, under Settings. Works everytime now.
