Since people cannot seem to follow my requests on how I perform this for free and on my own time...I do not work for htc or att but offerred a solution for those who are fed up with the screwed up 2.3.3 update...I will no longer be offering this service....Enjoy waiting for HTC to release a fix, expect a long wait actually.

I have a pretty simple way to revert back to stock 2.2.1 WITHOUT voiding your warranty on your device from at&t...If you have msn messenger or yahoo messenger send me you contact name and ill add you to my contacts for the downgrade procedure and any other questions/help that may be needed .....I was stuck with this horrible update as well...and it sucked...so with the help of some others resources i figured out a way to just revert it back to usable rom...havent had an issue since...Im just offering what these big companies will not allow you to do...I do not work for any of these companies, just a known developer of ROM's for other devices that got tired of the bugs in this one....
P.S. Those who have requested,have gotten an email with information...for those who have questions as I stated above, email me your msn or yahoo messenger contact names and I will walk you through any difficulties you may have or answer anything you have issues with...its a pretty simple procedure but you never know....WC
Hey Everyone with this concern! I let him do the downgrade on mine, he is awesome! Definitely a life saver :) My phone is back to normal... One piece of advice, make sure you have done a recent sync with your contacts bc you will have to resync afterwards!

Please specify what "latest update" you are referring to. There was a maintenance update in April of 2011 that fixed a number of bugs in Android 2.2 (Froyo). The upgrade to Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) has been distributed OTA to some users, but not all yet.
Every time a new release comes out, a small percentage of users immediately declare that "it sucks" and they want to revert to the previous OS.
If you are talking about 2.3 Gingerbread, please provide details of the bugs so we can verify these as bugs and not simply as changes in how the ROM works. Simply saying "it sucks, and I want to go back to the old version" doesn't help us to help you.
I have been running 2.3 Gingerbread on my Inspire and have found it to work well. Thusfar, I have detected no bugs, but that doesn't mean there aren't any.

Latest update being the Gingerbread update 2.3.3, have been on the phone for 3 weeks straight with HTC and ATT, they are aware of the problem with contacts only showing numbers in messages as the major glitch....Its not a matter of it sucking,the other aspects of the update were good...but this one glitch with contacts not being read correctly is a major inconvience, nobody remembers all of their numbers of their contacts, and if your using this for business this becomes a real problem....its been documented all over the web by different people having the issue....So from my convo yesterday with both ATT and HTC they are going to re issue an OTA to fix this once they have figured it out, as of right now they have no answers...There are threads on this forum in multiples of people having issues with contacts etc....I had these issues as well...so this is why I posted to be able to help those who do have certain issues that were not present in the 1.84 ROM(previous ROM before GingerBread)

I'm having this problem as well. Something I noticed though that on my front page, my weather location is not always right. That's when my names are gone from my texts and have just numbers. When it finds the right location, my names come back. It doesn't stay that way though
