I'm hoping Wild Child can help me, I have not updated my phone from the 2.2.1 to the gingerbread.  I keep getting update notifications for a 2.47.*****  Will this mess up my phone like the gingerbread or is it safe to update?

Also I notice ATT is still happily trying to sell Inspires.

stay on the 2.2.1 build...better safe than sorry, both htc and at&t told me they were "looking into" a fix for the 2.3.3 build that everyone had issues with....nothing ever came of it....the device has been pulled from most stores and is available online only....they are pushing the newer phones on people which is really sad because if you are not in an LTE area it makes the phone about useless....I have 4 of the new phones and still use my inspire as a daily runner because it outperforms the new phones....so until they either update the software or the lte network or both I will continue to use the inspire...
