I tried for several hours to sync my phone to the computer by disk and hot sync nothing work. I installed and reinstalled still nothing. I am running widows vista home premium. Do someone have a solution.
What exactly are you trying to sync to your device-there are different methods you can use for diferent things.
Does your PC "see" your device?
Did you install HTC Sync to get the needed drivers for your PC to connect this device?
More details please.

I'm trying to sync pics and files and yes I installed the drivers from the site here. My computer do see the device but the error I am getting is remove the cable for ten seconds the plug in again because the program did not recognize the device or something in that order
I got my Incredible yesterday and attempted to sync it to my PC. I was given several options, sync, charge only , etc. However, it stated that it was looking for HTC Sync. Ihave the version of sync I used for my Aria that allowed side loading. The Incredible could not find it.
It did do a sync of some sort because I was asked a couple of questions and it synced my Exchange (Outlook) contacts.
I suspect that AT&T has somehow managed to refuse connectivity to that version of sync.I am a little reluctant to give it up.
I think the real problem was the device is so new. Yesterday they didn't even have it listed on the HTC website. I would download the HTC sync program today and you will get better results.
I feel the same way but it's a driver issue and the only way it will work is with the porper driver I believe, I will try a different OS windows 7 and see if it works there
I will try that also, maybe by now it's taken care of I tried twice at three this morning, but I hope HTC hurry with this issue
My issue is that I was able to connect and sync the phone through HTC sync but it doesn't transfer any information from my computer to the phone. I contacted customer service and am hoping for a response soon.
Good luck peggymoney I hope C S will help you but what Operating System are you using XP, vista or Windows 7
I'm having the same prob on a Win7 64-bit PC. Sync software appeared to install correctly (downloaded from the Inspire support page), but when I plug in the phone the Sync icon in the sys tray goes away and the program won't restart. I have e-mailed tech support and will post if the have any useful info.
I am running a W7 - 64 bit PC with Outlook 2003. I downloaded and installed HTC Sync 3.0.5511 from the Inspire "Downloads" page. The first sync didn't work, but I restarted the PC and did a soft reset on the Inspire and retried the sync. It worked for Contacts but I still can't sync Calendar events. I have Calendar selected and had tried syncing One Month, Two Months and One Year of Calendar issues with no success.
I'm still working on it and will post back with tricks and tips as they unfold.
Hello, I reset my inspire phone to factory settings and got the sync program to work, but now that I am connected it gives me the message cannot transfer contacts and that is on every sync like music, calender everything. I will continue to trouble shoot this but HTC really need to do something quick
I received a response form HTC today and for windows 7 they have both a 32 and 64 bit version fo the driver! It now works for both HD and sync mode.

If your synchronization issues persist, please perform a clean uninstall of HTC Sync on your computer as described above. If you have Windows 7 32 bit, please create the directory structure C:\Program Files\HTC\HTC Driver\Driver Files\Vista_x86 on your computer and then navigate to the website http://the-asylum.com/files/HTC_Driver_32.zip OR http://tinyurl.com/yk2pghr. Unzip the uploaded file to the folder you created. If you have Windows 7 64 bit, please create the directory structure C:\Program Files\HTC\HTC Driver\Driver Files\Vista_x64\ on your computer. Navigate to the website http://the-asylum.com/files/HTC_Driver_64.zip OR http://tinyurl.com/ykaq9uk and unzip the uploaded file to the folder you created.
Great work , thanks for the information. Earlier as I stated before I did a factory reset and at first it didn't work but then I found that when I sync calendar with the other folders such as music, documents etc... I would get that error but now everything is working fine. I hope this may help others too.
I have HTC Sync working with my W7-64bit OS and Outlook 2003. It will sync my Contacts with no issues. It will not sync Calendar entries from the PC to the Inspire. If I enter a Calendar entry into the Inspire and sync with the PC, the sync works perfectly. All new Calendar entries that begin on the Inspire sync with the PC, but all entries that are entered into the PC will NOT sync with the Inspire.
Obviously, the drivers are correct, or the Contacts wouldn't sync from PC to device and device to PC.
I can't figure out the difference with syncing Contacts.
