I can't figure out how to set up my calendar to sync with Outlook....any suggestions???
You need to download HTC Sync from the Inspire 4G download support tab :
www.htc.com/.../downloads
Very little appropriate documentation seems to exist.
Once downloaded, install and select the items you want to sync - ie email, calendar, files, etc.... There are a few other settings, but this is the gist...
After the HTC synch software installs (which incldues the drivers) -When you plug in your cell to the USB port, you will then be promped on your cell to select the type of connection - select HT Sync; there is also something like disk drive which enables you to mount the inserted memory card in the cell as a drive,,,
Hope that helps.
It is very poor from a customer standpoint that HTC does not provide a CD or at least put the installer on the memory card.
I went though this same thing with the HTC Aria....
Did you install HTC Sync? It is pretty self explanatory if you have, it is simply selecting Calendar and choosing Outlook or Outlook Express.

I tried to download the program from the link above and the HTC Inspire support page. I am able to download the program and it installs just fine. Unfortunately, it is not in English. Anyone else have the same problem? Thanks.

I think that there was a language selection option during the installation...try uninstalling and then reinstalling it. Mine is all English.
I downloaded and installed HTC Sync 3.0.5511 from the Inspire page. When HTC Sync launches on the PC, there is definately a choice of languages. I selected "U.S. English" and it installed without event. The Inspire is recognized by the PC running W7 - 64 bit and Outlook 2003. I set up sync for Contacts and Calendar; with Calendar set up to sync the last one year of data.
During sync, I see a message on the HTC Sync dashboard (lower left corner) that says "Syncing Contacts" followed by "Syncing Calender". When sync finished, I disconnect the device and checked for Contacts on the Inspire. They are all there with no issues.
Unfortunately, most of the the Calendar events have not been synced. They exist on the PC, but not on the Inspire. A few entries that were added to the PC while the Inspire was connected show up on the Inspire, and a few old (two months ago) Calendar entries are synced, but most of the Calendar entries from the PC are not synced with the Inspire.
To resolve conflicts, I have HTC Sync to have the PC data overwrite the Inspire data, since the Inspire was new and blank before syncing
I have tried the sync operation several times with no change in results.
Anyone have any ideas?
HTC Support sent me a link (www.htc.com/.../SupportViewNews.aspx) . After downloading and installing HTC Sync from this link, I was able to select English and all is well. =)
Thanks!

For the appointments that wont sync, is there anything special about them (recurring, archived, etc.)?
Nothing special that I can see. No recurring, not archived, reminder not set, no label - just "plain vanilla" Calendar entry with Subject, Start Time, End Time. "Private" box is not checked. No Contacts are entered. No Categories are entered.
"Show time as:" set to "Busy", but I have also tried the "Free" check box with the same results. No sync from PC to device, but no problem syncing from device to PC. Sync conflict resolution is currently set up to have PC overwrite device. Very odd?
Some additional info on this issue. If I originate a Calendar entry on the Inspire, when I sync with the PC, the event syncs and ends up on the PC. After that, if I edit that event on the PC. the next time I sync, the edit is transferred to the device. Unfortunately, when I originate the Calendar event on the PC (which is what I usually do), the event will not sync to the Inspire.
Since my last several years of Calendar events are on the PC, I can't get them to transfer to the Inspire. Contacts transfer both ways with no problems, but Calendar issues only sync from device to PC - not vice versa. Weird!
I'm experiencing a similar problem. Anyone please help!
My info:
HTC Inspire 4g (AT&T) (just got it two days ago)
Running Outlook 2010
HTC Sync 3.0.55.11
Tried to sync Outlook to phone and only some of the events were transferred from my PC to my phone. It looks like recurring events don't show up but also some one-time events aren't showing up as well. I tried setting when conflict occur using both the MOST RECENTLY UPDATED override and the PC DATA override.
I just tried creating an event in my phone and it did not transfer to Outlook using HTC Sync in the MOST RECENTLY UPDATED mode.
I have some problems also. I get to instal HTC Sync the newest version. I can sync music, pictures and favorites without any problems.
But when I try to sync Contacts and Calendar from Outlook 2010, it pops up an error and then tells me Unable To Copy Contacts from PIM.
Anybody has an idea about this? How can I fix it?

Check out the system requirements for HTC Sync-Outlook 2010 isnt supported: http://www.htc.com/us/support/inspire-att/downloads/
Ok thanks. Any suggestion for another way to sync without the HTC Sync software?
