I am having trouble syncing with PC. I've managed to do it successfully once or twice (last time, had to remove the battery and start all over before the PC would recognize the phone). Now I am back to the PC not seeing the phone again ... no device attached. I've reinstalled the HTC Sync, checked the settings on the phone for "connect to PC" and de-selected a wireless connect, restart, etc. Still not recognizing the phone. This is getting annoying.
did you root your phone... if not download this... www.htc.com/.../downloads click on htc synce 3.0 that should help you
make sure your phone is debugging when the screen pops up with 4 choices
This tool was not available when I first had the problems. I've downloaded and installed it (after removing my previous installation of HTC Sync). PC still does not recognize the phone. Not even in the "disk mode."
The screen does not pop up with 4 choices. It USED TO, but it no longer does so. Is there a place on the settings where I can configure that?
Ah... found the place to set the USB debugging ("Settings," "Applications," "Development") -- I'll give it another try.
I'm having an issue also. When I plug the phone into the computer, it initially recognizes the phone in HTC Sync, but then disconnects after a couple of seconds. I checked the items mentioned in this thread and all seems to be in order. Any suggestions?
There are multiple ways to achieve whatever it is that you want to do. Maybe if you explain what exactly you are trying to accomplish then I can help you more. Please be specific.
I found the issue was with my computer. I downloaded the software on another laptop and it worked just fine to synch my music and pics.
I've been having that problem as well. It was syncing for a while, and then suddenly stopped. My phone shows that it is connected to the computer. The computer initially sounds the connection chime, but then sounds the disconnect chime. It does this over and over. An error report comes up:
TL-Bootstrap.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close.
Sending an error report of course does nothing.

Has anyone been able to sync to the Calender using Outlook 2002? 2002 isn't listed in the manual as compatible but it worked for about 4 weeks and now it's not. When I'm in the HTC Sync window and click on Calender, the ON & Off button are "grayed" out and you can't choose either. Any suggestions other than upgrading Outlook?
Upgrading to a newer Outlook won't help. I'm having same problem with Outlook Calendar, I'm using Office 2007. When I first installed HTC Sync the calendar synced, now after connecting first message I get says "Fail to Mount/Unmount storage device". Then if I try again I get message "Unable to copy items to your device". NOW WHAT?
Ok, I just got a new HTC Incredible 2, and for some reason I cannot get it synced to my PC.
I downloaded "HTC Sync" and it is clearly on my computer. When I open the program, right away it says "No device connected."
BUT: ..I connect my phone via USB cable, it connects to my computer, I use the connection menu on the phone saying "HTC Sync," ..then it scans for a little bit, and says "Unable to find HTC Sync on your computer."
THIS IS BLASPHEMY PLEASE HELP ME!
Victory! It started working somehow.
