When I hook my Evo up to my computer as a disc drive, I am having a hard time finding my pictures so I can transfer them to my computer. I finally found the files, but the format is .raw, which my computer is unable to open. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong? I know it has to be something simple...transferring photos from phone to computer can't be that difficult...
My pictures (from camera) are stored on the SD card at /mnt/sdcard/DICM/100MEDIA in the form of IMAGXXXX.jpg The file format .raw would seem to be from a different camera than the stock camera on the HTC EV0 4G. (e.g. the Panasonic LIMUX FZ-18 will produce .raw images). To view .raw images may require another program on your computer...suggest Google "view .raw images" to find this.
After opening up your phone on the computer you should navigate to the folder named DCIM. This is where all your pictures you take should be. The .RAW extension is like a negative for a regular camera that uses film. If these pictures that have the .RAW extension are from the internet and not your phone's camera, then you're out of luck.
how do i transfer my pics. to my pc
There are two ways that you can transfer pics to your
PC. The first is to go to
Settings>Connect to PC and then select Disk Drive Mode. Then plug your phone into the computer and
you can access the files like you would on a removable disk. You can find your pictures under DCIM>100
Media and you just need to drag and drop them to your computer.
The other way is to use HTC Sync, which you can download
here: http://www.htc.com/www/software/htc-sync/. Follow the installation directions on the
website, then go to Settings>Connect to PC and select HTC Sync Mode on your Evo View, plug it in, and run
