Amaze getting shutdown now and again

Hi,

My HTC Amaze is getting shut down now again almost 10 to 15 times a day, it Shutdown normally when we click the power Button or when we receive the call, this has intensiyed . Please help

Hello sorry for my english... I have this problem HTC amaze still says out of service area i didnt anything just listening to music and that this...now i dont have any signal i cant call ... i tried factory reset...didn work... i have other simcard then T mobile but i bought key to unlock simcard... everything was okay for 4 maybe 5 months and now this... please help

i search amazon and so many other sites looking for accessories for my phone and never find anything that's actually up to par with what's offered for all the other htc handsets. also please don't refer me to the "official htc accessory store page" ever....they don't have anything. my phone has a dock mode buy no htc branded dock. i wanted a seido case for my phone and they have a case for every other phone except mine. i can't believe we're getting the sh*t end of the stick here for choosing a phone that we like. if you don't believe me go on amazon and search HTC Amaze cases or accessories. all you get is a bunch of generic crap that looks like it's built by/for a 9yo.

Apps disappearing after Restart? (& Backup Utility Recommendation)

Don't know if this was the cause, but maybe a week ago; I was playing Music on my phone while it was charging in the car... Then all of a sudden, it started making a buzzing sound (as if it crashed) and the phone automatically rebooted itself... I went back into the music after it loaded up (and submitting the Error Report) and continued playing my music... But later I noticed that some of my apps on one of the home screen tabs were missing...or rather, the Icon wasn't as it should...

I checked the Play Store and noticed that all of them somehow went missing from my phone... But it was no big deal... I just re-installed them from the Play Store and went about my phone use; "Business as Usual"...

But now today, I realize that EVERY TIME I restart my device; these same apps keep disappearing... PicsArt - Photo Studio, Mass Effect: Infiltrator, Where's My Water?, Quell Reflect, World of Goo and Osmos HD...

I know the "data" for these apps is still on my SD card, because when I re-install them; I don't have to go back and install the "extra" MBs of data that some of them require... For example Mass Effect... It may be 16.31 MB in the Play Store but to play it, it requires another like 470+ MB of data which has to be downloaded... But when I re-install this app, all I have to do is download the 16.31...and not the 470+ MB of data again...

So, what's the deal? How do I get this fixed, without possibly having to keep these apps installed on my Phone's Storage?

In an unrelated subject... Would anyone know of a good Backup Application for this phone, that isn't Titanium Backup; as my phone isn't rooted!?! I'm currently using My Backup Pro; but it doesn't let me backup my Google Maps or Facebook app... Which is kind of important as most of the updates from these two apps either break the app or gets rid of something useful from a previous version... And right now i'm happy with my current versions which is Google Map version 6.1.20 (#6120014) and Facebook 2.0 (although this is the current version; updated from 1.8.3 [default system version] 5 days ago since the reviews were actually positive for the first time in a LONG time...)

But anyway, yeah... I need a better Back-up App because when the above started happening, I used it to restore the missing apps but for some reason; it wouldn't restore Where's My Water?... So its not really reliable now...

Music album art all the same?

I definitely have some complaints about Sense 3.6 which is on my Amaze. The wife got an HTC One S yesterday and the Sense 4.0 on that appears a lot better. Any chance we can update to 4.0 or any future plans if we cannot now? These are our first HTC devices so I don't know the history with updates on Sense.

I have noticed that my wife's Amaze 4g always goes into car mode when she plugs it into her usb cable but if she uses mine it doesn't. Why would it do this? It doesn't charge while it is in car mode. I have to touch the notice and then it just goes away. How to i stop this from happening and not have to buy another usb cable?

I am sorry for my English but will try.I have a lot problems with my phone. the first I couldn't charge

my phone . it shows that it is charging but battery level went down. then I have to wait a few hours

to charge my phone. my phone gets really warm all the time. I send it to HTC for repair. They fixed charging problem but phone gets warm again. After repair I noticed that my browser doesn't work well and some games doesn't go smooth. when I opened my internet I couldn't highlight address bar. if I want to type address I have to delete all address bar or hold and then I see three option select all,copy and paste. I have to use select all to highlight the bar. I send mi phone to HTC again and after repair the problem is the same. I call to HTC and they told me that's is the way that they go now. is is true? I don't think so. hope you understand. please help.thanks

Fix for Email Syncing Issue?

First; let me say that its surprising that this isn't already here... But from the little research i've tried to do about the subject, there hasn't been an answer I could find...

Anyway, I recently purchased this phone new... Love it, like all other HTC phones i've bought but among a couple of other issues; this is most troubling... I've noticed that the Auto Sync function for "Mail" doesn't sync on schedule...

I set it for 15 min on Peak Hours and 1 Hour for Off-Peak and it doesn't follow that schedule... Maybe for the first week or so it worked but now, it seems I have to manually sync it if I want to receive any of my e-mails... I didn't really notice it until one day I got over 15+ e-mails at one time... NOW, even if I restart my phone it doesn't sync... And normally (at least when I had my Sensation); restarting the phone would automatically Sync anything that was turned on and/or activated to sync regardless of the schedule...

IIRC, from the pages i've seen, this problem is almost over a year old... Any solution!?! Will the hope of an Jelly Bean update remedy this problem!?! (And hopefully the Copy & Paste; as well as Personal Dictionary issue)...

Bluetooth range?

No matter what I do between master resets, new back cover, no case, 4 different bluetooth headsets and can't go past 3 feet without static and can't even put the phone in my pocket at all.

HTC Sense/Hub: add-on widgets. Wha'happen?

Since the OTA update to ICS 4.0.3 over T-Mobile, the HTC hub no longer lists any of the add-on widgets. Not is there a "Get more" link in the Settings | Personalize | Widgets | Browse HTC Widgets screen.

I'm glad I already downloaded the Sand timer, Google Translate, and Battery widgets, though I can't find the APKs. (/data/app/ is off limits, they're not in /system/app/ which I presume is the firmware repository.) Some have been superseded, e.g. Notes, Tasks, but Fortune Cookie was fun. I can't remember the others....

Where can we find these to reinstall after doing a factory reset, or others who'd like to try them out?

HTC Sync - Error 1001 - Device not ready

i've had problems since the beginning and all i got was a bunch of trouble shooting from techs. mine overheats sometimes reaching 120 degrees. my sd card constantly unmounts itself, data connection shows it's on but will never connect to anything and it drops calls. those are some of the worst problems. the list goes on with this device. i've had to get a refurbished replacement under warranty and it didn't help anything. cuz i have the exact same problems. my phone stays somewhere between 97 and 105 degrees usually and sometimes smells of burnt plastic. but htc and t-mobile are no help at all. this sux. i just want a refund or something different worth the $500+ i paid for this phone. is there any real solution?

This is a thread for the new comer, a person who was thinking of switching to htc from another company.

I would like to start off by saying . I owned a HTC G1 for 4 years. I think for its day it was the best phone I ever owned . I loved it . It was virtually in my opinion indestructible. I couldnt of asked more from it.

But all things come to a end. As apps got bigger and the phone slowed down I needed a new faster phone. so I saved my pennies. And it was hard because I work as a pizza delivery person. I dont make much. But its a job. Im happy to be working.

I went and bought 2 HTC Amaze phones 8 -9 months ago. I was happy with them at first , until the bugs started.

First let me say If theres any one in this world who is supper careful with there phones it is us. We bought 2 D30 case , Screen protectors and zip up padded pouches for our phones and use bluetooth so there just not out in the open. For 600.00 X 2= 1200.00 on my salary I wanted theese phones to last as long as my G1 did.

Back to the Bugs. It starts off the phone wont charge unless I would take the battery out and put it back in. It also wouldnt turn on sometimes unless I did the same thing with the battery.I often would have to reset it for the phone to even find service . The internet Would go on and off rapidly at my home wifi that I was 2 feet in front of me. Rapidly on & off , on & off. The phone wasnt acting like it was a stroke victom was great. But that was rarely.

Then the Ice Cream sandwich update came. That made it worse. Same symptoms it just would happen more frequently.

Last week comes im on the phone and all of sudden it drops the call I look at it it powers off. Dead. It now wont power on , take a charge, or connect to the Internet. Why I dont know. And like I said. The phones is babied.

I call HTC . Im still under warranty. They will repair it. I was told it will take 2 days most likely . so I Overnight my phone . well because lets face it you need a phone this day and age ,

I check my tracking and great they have it. That was Aug 22 . The next day I look its doesnt say they did a thing and now the date they received it it says is the 23 24 25 same thing. On the 25th I call the person on the phone says its your motherboard. I guarantee you by Monday This will change and you will have a update . Ok I can deal with that. . Now here we are Monday the 27th of Aug. It doesnt say anything has been done to it and it says they just received it .

Im upset so I call HTC. I talk to some one . I tell them pretty much what I just wrote previously . The HTC rep on the other line tells me Im unsure why this is happening. They usually go out with in a day in one half of getting here. Im sorry i cant help you. Thats not acceptable to me. Open a ticket , find my phone. Tell me why this is happening and if you cant let me speak to some one who could. Supervisor gets on.

Tells me they tried fixing the phone but the part they used didnt work so it went back into repair. Why doesnt my screen say that I ask. I dont know. Thats not good enough its your job to find out..

The one thing i have to go on. The web site HTC made so there customers can get updated is not working right for me. The supervisor tells me she will contact corporate. I asked for a ticket number . Something I can refer to just like my phone to see results. I cant do that she expresses. I told her I dont believe her after I have been lied to by the past few reps I talked to. The supervisor says why would I lie. They lie like every one else to sound good and get me off the phone. At the end of the call I asked her Where did I get talking to you I feel as if I got no where.

Its not them they do not care . There customer service went horribly down hill . They went from a number 1 company to not caring about the little guy. The little guy who would delivery thousands of pizzas to get one of there phones. The best part is my second phone is doing the same thing and it will last just long enough to make it out of warranty. So I spent 1200.00$ on phones that are just as good as the boot leg ones you would find on ebay. In my eyes HTC has turned into the cheep knockoff sales person off of ebay selling you inferior products that are made from cheap supplies and not thought out well enough. When there products breaks on you they offer you no help or explanation why. Im left in the dark not knowing anything. I get representatives that all tell me different stories lie to me and make me feel as im not important enough. I guess HTC is really copying apple 100%. Phones Software , Looks and Customer service.

And the Icing on the Cake for me . they tell me if they cant fix the problem I wil be given a phone of equal value. Well the phone in today market is worth a few hundred dollars. When I bought it . The Amaze was #1 worth 595.99 at Tmobile. Now it cost I think 299.99? So I will end up with a phones that is just all around no where close to my orginal phone.

So in the end I have two HTC amaze phones. I spent 1200.00$ One is in repair . Lost in what seems like its in the movie ground hog day. Well and my other sits here on its way out the door. Every one from there I feel is not being 100% honest and giving me the run around. This sucks I spent my hard earned money to get screwed By a company who I thought was suppose to be there for customers.

So If your thinking of buying a HTC DONT they will not help . there products are not any where like they used to be and you will get the run around.

I will keep re-posting this in as many Android forums as I could. Just to Show HTC one person could do something.

Car Mode

It seem that since this morning my amaze automatically slips into car mode.

Even after a restart it keeps doing it. I had it plugged in to charge and it reverted to car mode and stopped charging...

Anyone have any ideas?

is there a solution for no hyperlinks in email?

Parts of the touchscreen don't work in some apps

I'm having a problem where a strip maybe 3 or 4 millimeters wide on the right side of the screen doesn't work in some applications. For instance, in the Clock app, I can't tick or untick the checkboxes to turn the alarms on or off, but when I'm looking at a specific alarm, I can tick the box for vibration with the alarm which is located in the same position along the side. In alpha mode on the keyboard I can usually (but not always) get it to select the P and the backspace keys, but can never get it to select the same positions on the numeric keyboard (the 0 and backspace). The list goes on, though more often than not the strip doesn't work.

I tried a factory reset. Didn't help. Before reinstalling anything I did the ICS update. Didn't help. In the ICS settings, I turned on the "Show touches" option (Settings -> Develop option -> User interface) which gives me a gray circle showing where I'm touching the screen. The circle goes away when I move into that strip on the side bar as if I'm not touching the screen at all.

I'm getting ready to call T-Mobile and see if I can warranty exchange it but I figured I'd check here before I did to see if anybody has any ideas before I go through that giant mess.

Gmail notifications prompt for default app

Since the OTA update to 4.0.3. and Sense 3.6 (T-Mobile), I've noticed that Gmail notifications, when clicked, prompt to be acted upon by Gmail, or my third party file manager. (The third party file manager seems to be prompted to save a file...)

Anyone else noticed this?

BTW, what happened to all the old threads? I know I've posted issues here prior, did admins just delete them?
