  • I'd like to know if it's possible to update or edit the words that come up when typing a text message. The predictor works great, but sometimes I've mistakenly "added" words to the dictionary that now come up when I'm typing common words. I'd like to avoid a hard reset. If you know how I can edit those words without doing so, please let me know how I can do so.

EDIT: I do know about the "user dictionary" function under settings in the text messaging, but it only appears that some of the "added" words are in there. others keep showing up, but perhaps the dictionary is not universal and only adds words to the text dictionary and then adds them elsewhere? I'm a little confused, as you might tell.

  • I'm not completely sure if this is what you are asking for but from time to time I load incorrectly spelled words to my dictionary.  After a while, these "bad" words pile up and become annoying when the predictor chooses my previously saved misspelled word.  The only way I know how to get rid of these is to clear my dictionary and have it reset to the original state as when I purchased my Hero.  Go to Menu / Applications / Manage Applications / Touch Input.  Then select the "clear data" button.  This will reset your keyboard along with the dictionary to its original state.  Hope this helps.

  • From the Home screen tap Menu > Settings > Language & keyboard > Touch input > User Dictionary. In this menu you can add, delete, or edit words in your personal dictionary.

  • I think the question asked was not "how do I get to the dictionary" but instead "how do I re-order the list of words that pop up.

I have the same problem, I added pm to my dictionary, but no matter how many times I want to write 7pm I get Small, Soon, Pop, SMS, Somewhere, Possible..

They really need to have some kind of system that understands, I have only typed 2 letters, so show me smaller letters first.. 2 letter words, 3 letter words, 4 letter words.. etc..
