Problem unlocking HTC T-Mobile My Touch 3G

Hi there,

Could anyone help me unlock my phone? I have recently bought a HTC My Touch 3G from T-Mobile and paid the full price.

I have requested the unlock code twice and I have been given the same code which doesn't work for me and I don't want to try it any more (I had tried it two times) I have asked T-Mobile to request a different numeric string from the one that I have been receiving. This whole thing is frustrating already. Should I simply pay to the online unlock services web sites? Could you recommend one?

What would happened if I permanently lock my phone to T-Mobile? Is there any way to recover from that?

Camera stopped functioning

I just noticed yesterday that the camera on my phone no longer works. When you activate the camera app the view is just black (all the controls are present--the app is trying to work). And nothing happens when I click the button to snap a picture.

When I switch to video, same problem. The view area is black.

Of course, there is nothing covering the camera lens. I've rebooted the phone, doesn't help.

The camera was working fine recently and I don't think I did anything to break the camera.

Hi guys new here and to this phone its a mytouch 3g it has cyanogenmod 6.1 what i did was i draged the google maps icon down to the bottom menue and lost my expanded menue icon so i cant get the rest of my icons any help thanks

I can play video in Flixster, for example, to watch trailers, and some YouTube videos are fine. Others, such as the Sons of Anarchy promo videos on the YouTube site, won't play; I can hear them, but a only a blank screen - or a random frozen image from the video - appears. Why is this? The Froyo update T-mobile pushed to my phone caused it to be un-useable, and got no help from them. Downloaded a 3G ROM from a Google search, but I have lost all the Fender apps by doing this. DOI !! Anyone smart enough to have saved their original Fender ROM that I can use, please ?

MyTouch 3G Froyo Update Problems

I have had nothing but problems after updating my MyTouch 3G phone from Android 1.6 to 2.2.1. I have twice done a factory reset since upgrading.

1. Most annoying & highly reproducible: After making or receiving a call via blue tooth device, even for a few seconds, I get ridiculous battery drain even if bluetooth is turned immediately turned off. Phone diagnostics (dialer - *#*#4636#*#* shows 100% usage and indicates phone hasn't slept since time of bluetooth use - drains >10% battery charge/hour). Drain continues until reboot, at which point diagnositics show normal usage and normal battery use. Battery health is good, consistent with getting 2-3 days with light use as was happening on 1.6.

2. Moderately annoying & highly reproducible: Phone will not offer usb connection after charger is used while phone is on. You plug it into the computer, but no notification, unable to mount as usb-storage drive. After rebooting phone and plugging into computer, immediately get notification to mount SD Card and can connect without problems.

3. Slightly annoying & highly reproducible: When making direct call shortcut, contacts never appear (you have to search, which will bring up matching contacts) to select.

4. Quirky (not sure what causes it to happen) but has happened multiple times: Phone boots to airplane mode after being charged when being turned off. Deactivating airplane mode causes phone to reboot, whereupon network finally appears. Posts on T-mobile forums indicate some users can't get out of this.

5. Only tried it once: When selecting to unmount sdcard to prepare for removal (couldn't connect to computer as in #2 above so thought would put card in card reader) phone indicates preparing forever, and then reboots.

I would be delighted to go back to 1.6 - any images out there I could install from SD CARD ?

Screen Problems

My brother bought my HTC MY TOUCH 3G SLIDE phone in Feburaryl. He shipped to me from Washington State. When i recieved it the screen would scroll up like the old tv's did. Is there a software that i can download to fix this problem?

I have the first generation mytouch from t-mobile that I nabbed for cheap after they made a new model. But onto my problem!

So I'm a little late on the update train for android phones as I had a friend get an update awhile ago that i only got now, however I have run into a major problem.

So both parts of the update downloaded and installed, but apparently....

Contacts are in the process of being upgraded. 

The upgrade process requires approximately 5Mb of internal phone storage. 

Choose one of the following options 
(uninstall some applications) 
(retry upgrade)

Now when this first came up i was like damn the apps that I just installed filled me up! And promptly removed them, tried again, and it looked like it was working but it returned to the same screen.

Now with closer inspection I found that i have over 200Mb+ in internal phone storage, but nothing works. I've tried it connected and disconnected to wifi and nothing changes. It's rather infuriating because I cant access my contacts,but whats interesting is that i can still text and call people from my saved text conversations.....

I've been trying to fix this for awhile (happened in late december) and I've got nothing. Also there seems no way to do a factory rest on the phone? I looked in the settings (SD card and phone storage) where the option should have been, wasn't there.

I'm confused, worked up and would love some insight <3

The latest OS upgrade from google was pushed onto my phone my T-Mobile. This phone is now frustratingly slow, very very slow. It has crashed several times, takes about 7 minutes to start up from a power on condition. It takes nearly 30 seconds to bring up a contact. I can't believe that HTC or T-Mobile didn't do any testing of this disaster. I would be out of a job if I let a product like this out on a computer or network. Looking at options with other carriers and phone brands. Never saw this poor service on a Motorola phone.

How to connect to web using wifi?

I have a MyTouch 4G and don't have a data plan (yet). I thought that I could connect to the web whenever I was connected to a Wifi hotspot but when I try to it says that I need a data plan.

Do I really need a data plan or am I missing something?

I have verified that I am connected to Wifi.

Mytouch 1.2 custom restore file

Ok I tried to root my phone and i ended up totally screwing it up. Basically what I need to restore it is a custom ROM file of the newest T-Mobile software that has a custom main version of 2.53.707.2 and a model ID SAPP31000. if anyone from HTC could create such a file for me, thatd be amazing! thanks

I have pics stored on an 8GB memory card, but there are times when i can see my pics and there are times (which are more often) when I can't see my pics. All that comes up during those times are just the categories. If someone could please help me out with this, I will be greatly appreciative.

The MyTouch 4G has the same form factor as the 3G, doesn't it? I want to buy an after-market extended battery and most are marked as fitting the 3G. Hoping that I can use them on the 4G.

Anyone have a recommendation for a particularly good extended battery, or even better, know where to find one of those cases that charges the phone during the day, such as are available for iPhones?
