myself and co worker have the same phone evo design and ever since htc had us do a software upgrade we have had nothing but problems with our phones not doing what there suppose to do. sad it takes about 30 seconds to a minute to get my phone to make a call. when i think it didnt recongize my touch on screen to call someone. i touch it again then i end up with 2 or more phones to same person..... please htc fix the bugs in this software update........
Hey there Texasgal68. I’m sorry to hear you’re having problems with your EVO Design after the update! That’s the last thing we want to hear after an OS upgrade. It definitely shouldn’t be taking that long to make a call. Here are the first couple things I’d like you to try.
First and foremost, try running your phone in Safe Mode. Sometimes, when you receive a system update and the apps on your phone are for the older version of the operating system, they can cause a lot of problems like what you’ve outlined. Most often we see it with battery saver or task killer apps. Running your phone in Safe Mode will allow only pre-installed software to run so if it is a 3rd party app, you should not experience the delay you’re describing. If Safe Mode really improves the performance of your phone, you may have to go back and uninstall some of the apps until you find the one causing the conflict. To exit Safe Mode, just restart your phone.
If you try Safe Mode without any success, it may be that you need to perform a factory reset on your phone after you’ve received a new operating system. This will wipe the phone and you can start fresh, which is not necessary, but is typically recommended after this level of an update. Please be advised that this process will delete a lot of data stored on the device, and I recommend getting a hold of my teammates over in customer support.
