Hi, I'm asking the main question. Will HTC Rogers Magic receive any updates from Android 1.5 to Androind 2.x?
After latest "update" with 911 problems, which actually was a lock for all of us, we cannot do any more "custom" updates to the phone and now we (users) fully relly on HTC and Rogers to provide us an update.
We need to move away from cupcake (1.5) because 90% of good and valuable android market applications are not supporting it anymore, i'm loosing the functionality of my phone. Please help me....
Thanks for reply
I agree and think we should insist on updates.
My Magic is less than 12months old and I am constantly frustrated by the lack of updates. Turn by turn GPS would be awesome.
This latest Froyo release 2.2 has me contemplating rooting the phone.
This is NOT just Googles or HTC's problem, it's mostly Rogers and them giving lip sevice to wanting to get on board with Android.
Apparently it is.
The Dream is not getting it though.

Hi,
HTC Magic will be upgraded to 2.1 by mid-year.
Thanks! Richard.
Yeah yeah yeah... I read about this long time ago... and thi was before Android 2.2 appeared. Plus mid-year is pretty big range of time and they didn't specify which year it will be ))) I hope in 2010!
It is very bad for Dream users (and this effects HTC Magic 32A), android 2.2 requires more memory in the flash than those phones can provide. But I heard that some custom ROMs might allowed Dream user to sacrifize some functionality and be able to update into new OS )
