I took some pictures on my phone and before I realized how to change it, they were saving to the internal memory of my phone. I want to put them all on my SD Card, how do I do that? Also, is there a way to manage the SD files from the phone?
If you connect the phone to your computer with the USB cable and then select "disk drive" instead of "charging only", you'll be able to access the phone's internal memory and the SD card just like any other drive on your computer. Just copy the files to the SD card. I think there are some apps that will enable you to manage files from the phone, but I haven't needed it yet :),
Ugh, don't do ^ Anything to not attach to the computer :)
Download ASTRO from the marketplace and you'll be able to move files around at will on your phone.
I have downloaded Astro but still can't select the photos from the Internal Memory to move them to the SD Card. Can you give me instructions?
I had this problem over the weekend, and there is just no way to transfer from the phone memory to the SD card. Usually if I take a picture I will E-mail it to myself, that way once its in my E-mail, I can save to SD card. But with astro, I use another. The option is there to access the phones memory, but it will ask you again just to make sure. Also advise you that you might terminally mess up the OS. Just keep it simple and E-mail them to yourself, yeah it sounds dumb, but it works. I read somewhere that HTC was going change the saving of pictures to you decide where in a future update.
This is how I moved photos from phone internal storage to the SD card using Astro on my Incredible:
1) Keep hitting up to make sure you are at the highest level of the file directory
2) Scroll down and find the folder emmc and tap it
3) Scroll and find the folder DCIM and tap it
4) Scroll and find the folder 100MEDIA and tap it. Your phone storage photos should be here
5) Long press a photo file and select edit
6) Select copy
7) Keep hitting up again until you are at top of the file directory and scroll and find and tap the sdcard folder
8 Scroll and find the DCIM folder and tap it
9. Tap the 100MEDIA folder
10. Select Paste from the top menu and your photo will be pasted into this folder
You can also direct the phone to save photos either to the internal storage or to the SD card. This has to be done while in the camera mode and not under the general settings. Fire up the camera and press Menu. There will be an icon that looks like two gears. This is the settings button. Select storage and you will have an option to select the SD card or the internal phone storage.
When I go into the DCIM folder then 100media folder it says it is empty. Please help....
THANKS!!
Has anyone been able to get the photos to automatically save to the SD card? I have my camera set to store on the SD card and it still does not store them on the card. I got a new card and formatted it and still the camera will not save photos to the card. The other ways of moving photos to the card may work but the HTC user guide states that the photos should go to the SD card if that is the way your camera is set up.
Thank you for this post! I followed your instructions after I downloaded astro. This is amazing. All I want to do is play netflix on my phone.
Yes, open your camera. Click menu. Click the gears. Select sd storage. It should work for you.
Follow the instructions Avodrake posted. They work.
Incredible Hudson, I checked the Settings for both the camera and video and they are marked to send to storage card, but that only applies to the media I take from my phone. I am having a problem transferring photos and videos that I receive from someone else. I had Verizon Media Manager but canceled it because it wasn't working or I didn't know how to work it. I want to upload photos and videos to my PC. I've set it to "Disk Drive" and plugged in the USB but it brings me to Verizon's page even though I have uninstalled media manager. Is there a way I can do that?

I joined this forum just to write this post -that's how very irritated I am.
I am trying very hard to wean myself off of the "R" word, but I find myself sorely tempted to apply it liberally here. This is idiotic. That it should constitute a quest to make a simple file transfer is evidence of piss-poor design. Shame on you, HTC.
This is why the iPhone continues to eat you alive (and why you deserve it).
Ergonomic design, HTC: look into it.
