How to backup android sms as a text file and save to sd card.

Do you want to backup sms for your android device and save as an text file for further use? I share this guide about Android sms backup. 


Part one: Backup SMS from Android to computer.

1 Search and install VeryAndroid SMS Backup on your Android phone. Run the SMS Backup software on your phone and you will see this screen:



2. Click the "Backup SMS" button or click "Menu" -> "Backup SMS":




3.Here you can select backup file type(txt or csv). You can also enter your wanted custom file name. Then click "OK" button to continue.




4. SMS are being backed up now.



5. Done. All your SMS messages on Android phone have been backed up.




Part two: View sms in threading mode on computer.

1. Backup SMS from Android Phone to a CSV file.
Backup SMS from Android Phone to a CSV file with VeryAndroid SMS Backup. Then connect your Android Phone to your computer and copy the sms backup csv file out.

2. Import SMS from CSV file into PC Tool.
Click "Menu" -> "Import" or click "" Button to import your csv file sms into the PC Tool:



Select a CSV file and click "Open" to import.



3. View SMS in threading mode via PC Tool for VeryAndroid SMS Backup..
After importing your sms messages into the PC Tool, you can view them in the threading mode as follows:



4. Search messages
Click "Menu" -> "Search" or click "" Button to search target messages by keyword. You can search the keyword in messages, contact name or phone number:






5. Export SMS to document files
Click "Menu" -> "Export" or click "" Button. You can export sms messages to different document files format such as csv txt or doc for further use.




Moreover, you can also choose to export messages from a single contact only. Simply select a contact and then right click -> "Export":




Part three: Restore SMS from CSV file to Android

1. Transfer the SMS on CSV file(Created by VeryAndroid SMS Backup) from computer to your phone and place in a folder on your SD Card.(Skip this step if the file already on your phone).

2. Run VeryAndroid SMS Backup, click the "Restore SMS" button or click "Menu" -> "Restore SMS":
 

3.Select sms CSV file to restore. Then click "Yes" button to continue.

 

4.Restoring sms is in process now.



5. Done. All SMS messages are in your Android phone now.
