When I connect my Aria to my computer via USB cable I get a notification and can select Charge Only, HTC Sync, and Disk Drive. Charge Only and HTC Sync work OK, but when I select Disk Drive it does not mount the SD card. If I open the storage manager on the computer it shows the SD card as unallocated storage space. I am running Windows 7 Ultimate (32 bit). A few weeks ago this worked fine, but now I have tried power cycling the phone and the PC, and connecting as HTC Sync first and then switching to Disk Drive, but nothing seems to make the SD card mount correctly. Any suggestions?
Try disabing USB Debugging on the device, that usually does it for me.
I believe you get the Disable USB Debugging option ONLY in HTC Sync mode; I do not see a way to do that in Disk Drive mode. Do you know a way to do that?
I just plugged my Aria into my PC and selected Disk Drive mode from the pop up. Then I open my notification panel and see USB Debugging Connected, I touch on that and then uncheck the box for debugging. I dont always have to disable this to access my device as a disk drive but when it isnt showing up under my Devices with Removable Storage, I disable that and it usually works.
I have tried every which way; connecting via HTC Sync first, then disable debugging, then switch to Disk Drive; connect as Disk Drive first, etc..... always the same result: The computer disk manager sees the phone SD card as and unallocated disk. It will allow me to format it, but I know it is already formatted since the phone can read music and files from it. Right now all I can do is remove the SD card and copy music directly onto it, then reinstall the card. What a pain!
