I have a problem with my HTC Desire when I am connecting it with Wi-Fi connection. From a very long time my Desire device is showing that it’s connected to Wi-Fi, but I am not able access internet. I connect local network and i see other devices. I struggle to connect internet in my campus but i can't connect any website or android market. and i don't have auth in modem or router. I tried to "forget network" then restarted my device but still i have same problem. My campus wifi network's name is "KOÇ ÜNİVERSİTESİ" and maybe this name cause this problem. i use android 2.1.note: sorry my bad english
mine did the same thing and i had to go in and turn the mobile network back on
The problem is most likely that your University uses a network proxy to regulate Internet access (do you have a username/password that you use to access the Internet on campus?)
So far, I have found no way to get around this. As practically all businesses, schools and universities use a network proxy ... that is VERY surprising. :(
I just came back from a convention, and I had the same thing happening to me.
I was able to connect via WI-FI with the hotel router but unable to get on the internet and sign in. I tried again other adresses and still was unable to connect. My collegues were able to get on the internet without problems on their i-phones or Samsung and other devices.
Now I am back and my Desire works fine at home and everywhere else. Is it a glitch with the phone ?
If anybody could solve that problem I would appreciate
