I downloaded the only HTC sync that I could find. There didn't seem to be a download for the Incredible 2. Now when I connect the phone to my laptop, the program does not recognize the phone as connected. I do get an AutoPlay G: drive window that pops up but my Internet Security warns me not to run. Can someone help me?
Was this the one you downloaded?

It works for me.
They still don't have a link to the download from the HTC Droid Incedible 2 support page--that's a problem, especially since I told phone support it was missing well over a month ago.

That's the htc sync version I recieve when I search for the incredible S, which support has told me has the same guts as the 2, but rebranded for Verizon.
I'm pretty sure the drivers are trying to install the first time you plug the phone into your computer. But like your situation, it never completed for me; it may be because I'm using the 64-bit windows 7, In retrospect, I think I should have picked a phone that was a bit more mature, as it feels to me that haven't finished shaking the bugs out. Hopefully V won't get in the way of a Gingerbread update and the wonky bits will be fixed then.
The HTC sync program does give you an instruction to disable your antivirus prior to trying to install it. Developers used to use AV as an easy out excuse for bugs, but it's been years since I've had a setup program (drivers or otherwise) ask me to do that; . Personally, I think its an unacceptable violation of best-practice coding, but there isn't much you can do about it. Disable your a/v temporarily (usually an option if you right-click on the icon in the system tray) in order to allow the app to install.
The HTC support rep I've talked to was eager to help, and did help--much more so than the Verizon crew I went to first (who didn't even know what a driver or HTC sync was). Do call them if you have a problem. Its a very nice phone once you've got it set up.
Yes, I believe that is the one I used. I finally 2 nights ago, after rebooting phone and laptop, plugging and unplugging, it did tell me it recognized the phone was connected. ALTHOUGH, this was AFTER I was able to sync my media player music using a windows app....but I wanted my itunes music....oh well. I'm going to continue to work at this. Thanks for responding!
I do agree that it is very strange that there is no download for the Incredible 2. Hasn't this phone been out for a year?? Oh, and yes, I did have to disable my internet security...I sure hope I turned it back on when I was done. (thanks for the reminder...lol) I do appreciate your information, I was beginning to think I had a lemon. I've been through that before and don't want to go down that road again. Side note....I was very disappointed to hear that Verizon is getting rid of their unlimited data package...very sad news!
I have the same problem. I just took my sd card out and put it in a usb adapter and put all my music on it that way. Quick and simple!!
