As a person that spends about half the day on the road I was pretty disappointed when I upgraded my Windows 7.5 device to the new 8X and found out that the option to read text messages aloud does not work with this phone. I got a hold of a HTC Tech today that told me there is no solution to this problem. Keep checking back there may be a solution later. This is a huge miss. The problem extends to other voice recognition functions for search and navigation as well. Playing music with Bluetooth has an audible distortion. Also ending Bluetooth calls seem to hang the phone on occasion.
I was told this wasn't just me...has anyone else heard of a timeline for resolution?
The T-Mobile 8X phones are getting an OTA update tomorrow. One of the items addressed is "bluetooth connectivity improvements". I wish they were more specific than that! Yikes. But anyway, maybe it will address some of the problems you've been experiencing?I'm a T-Mobile customer and have no idea when Verizon will be pushing out its updates, but hopefully it will be soon. Verizon read MMS messages works for me.....didn't know it was an option.....could be you Bluetooth device
