I have my router using MAC filter and after the latest upgrade I notice that my phone is not connected to my network anymore. I tried to connect again and nothing worked. I went to my router and turned off the MAC filter and the phone connect without any problem. I checked the MAC list and the phone has a new MAC address now.

I did some tests and if I delete the network and restart the phone the MAC change again. If I remove the put the battery. The MAC change again.

Now I cant use the MAC filter in my house anymore.

    Could you please fix it?

looks like the firmware broke my wifi.

    Regards,

  • I am having issues with the HD7 wifi since the tethering update as well.

It sux and I wish I could roll back.

I only took the update because I was hoping that maybe the visual voicemail or the power management issues would be fixed as well.

Sadly, neither of those were addressed, and now I have a much longer list of problems with the HD7.

The HD7 has now made it to my "will not recommend" list because of the numerous defects in the hardware.

I love Windows Phone 7.5, but this may be my last HTC device.

  • I also want to voice my deep disappointment in this latest update.  The MAC address changes each time the phone is restarted.

Our business uses MAC address filtering for the 20 HD7 phones our staff have.

I have had to advise staff to not update their phones and those who have, to avoid restarting their phones.

And I have to change MAC address filtering lists for any phone that has restarted.

HTC - When will you fix this update?

  • I noticed this issue as well.  Why change the MAC address at all?  I have to register my phone with the network admin when I use it at work and it is now a pain if I have to restart they phone for any reason at all.  Was hoping the update yesterday would fix that, but it didn't.  Please, HTC... I like the phone, but this needs to be fixed...
