This thing is just annoying.
I know the reason for it, but in order to get my touchscreen back to add a 3 way or to dial numbers I have to either tilt my phone horizontally or extend it out 2 feet from my face.
Its absurd and just not usefull, makes even calling voicemail a pain.
The proximity sensor should only kick in within a few inches. Is it the screen lagging when it comes back, after you pull the phone from your ear?
IT was any time I had a call period. I could lay it flat on a table and it would stay black or flash rapidly.
I took it back since I was still within 14 days. The new one works correctly, must have been a bad sensor.
I seem to be having a similar issue. When someone calls me or when i call someone the phone goes blank until they hang up. No matter how far i move the phone from myself or anything it stays off. If i hold it facing downwards the screen comes on when speakerphone is activated. I don't know what to do.
Any info or solutions to this. I am having the exact same problem as the post above me.
Are you using a screen protector? The protectors I purchased from my carrier include cutouts for the light and proximity sensor. Also, are you using a fitted case that may partially block the seonsor? If the sensor is being blocked/distorted it may not work properly. Just thowing it out there.
No screen protectors or cases or covers on my phone. I can't figure this out. I can't hang the phone up without pulling it away from my face and hitting the power button to wake up the screen and then hitting end call. This is really annoying.
i have the otterbox commuter case on my phone...works pretty welll and doesnt affect the proximity sensor...it only goes off if your hand/finger/anything is over the top speaker...so as long as the speaker is away from something when you're in call it shouldnt cause the screen to go black...hope this helps
I had the same problem ,when I was making a call the screen turns black n can't do nothing until the other person hangs up n what I did is open the phone n put back the proximity sensor n place n now is working like a champ n is really easy to open it. So u guys should try it
