A new ROM update has been released for the HTC Tilt 2 and can be found by going to http://www.htc.com/us/support/tilt-2-att/downloads/.
Here is a brief summary of what is included in this update:
With this new software release also comes a Hardware color change for devices that are ordered online via the AT&T Website; customers that order a new HTC Tilt 2 for AT&T will receive a Blue HTC Tilt 2.
All existing HTC Tilt 2 users are encouraged to install the latest ROM to get the most out of their device.

Wow this ROM is just garbage... Waited almost a year for this to be released -and wow, if you thought the BLOAT ware was bad before...
HTC Sense = 30% memory (all the time, as if the phone didnt run slow enough already)
ATT Wireless Client = thanks alot, like the native windows client wasn't any good... BLOAT WARE
Twitter application??? why, if you're using Twitter, you've failed on so many levels :(
I really wish this ROM had more to offer, but it is what it is -regardless of how much fail/bloat-ware ATT's has managed to integrate into this awesome piece of hardware.
Really having trouble to install the new ROM update. I run into Update Error [302]. RUU stalls at 0%. Anybody an idea what is going on and how this can be fixed?
Environment: WIN7 Enterprise, Windows Mobile Device Center installed. Sync works great, device is nicely detected and accessible.
many thanks,
Alex

Power your device off.
Press and hold the VOL Down and Power Button to get to bootloader (rainbow screen).
Connect to your PC and wait for the Serial to change to USB on yor device and then try running the update that way.
You werent kidding lol, My memory dropped.
How do you get to applications??? Only way that I can see to do it is through quick links.
Thanks for your suggestion, HeavenLee! That didn't do the trick, however. When I connect USB in bootloader mode Win7 does not recognize the device and yet again I'm starring at progress bar showing 0%.
The Update Utility tells me ERROR [302]: Update Error.
any other ideas?
Anyone having probl,s with twitter, It keeps saying"The account was forbidden to access the tiwtter server!" But its authorized on my account.
I am having all sorts of problems with this "upgrade". It is slower and freezes a lot. In fact, if the screen turns off from inactivity, it's hit or miss if I'll get it to come back again by pushing the buttons. I've had to either soft reset or call the phone to get the screen to come back on.
I'm hoping that there is a fix coming b/c it is such a PAIN to flash the ROM and reinstall all of the apps, but I think I might have to do that. There should be some sort of imaging software for phones. That way I could just go back to what I had yesterday. :(
Agreed! This is painful. Someone should be fired for this mess.
There is a thread over at xda-developers.com with a program called crud scraper which is specifically for the tilt2 that can allow you to remove up to 39MG of the att stuff that you dont want. Also move as many 3rd party programs as you can to the SD card that will free up memory.
I read the posts on this and looked over the update. I am trying to understand why I would do this update if it results in slower operation? Besides twitter and AT&T wifi...what are the key reasons I should update my unit? Again...not interested in slowing the unit down....
when you started the update did you you go in and read the readme file like its says.? In any event here;s error code for (302/262/276/284) Error 302 this error occurs curing the CE ROM code upgrade process solution is to soft reset the device run the RUU again and the update process should continue (and complete) Note: At this stage Wince is destroyed instead it is in upgrade mode.
I have only had two issues one is that when I turn the device on like to check or call it starts the data which I find strange, and with the new rom my bible software wont close/minimize using the X button I have to the phone off button. Again kinda wierd but I can live with it. It does take longer to start probably because of the larger load file for sense. There's a bigger battery drain, but I have a usb cable on the computer another one at home via wall charger as I dont sync at home, and then a car charger via usb which has been my practice since the days of the Treo 600. So thats no biggie. Again if you want to ditch the bloat see my earlier post about crud scraper
Jeffrey programs are accessed by tapping start which was one way to get them on TF as well I first went to the slide bar and went all the way to the right like TF and got settings. It was also discombalulating to go to getting started and seeing navigating with Touch Flo kinda bizarre!
