Each time I start my Touch Pro 2 and before I get to the Today screen I get a TIME ZONES screen where I have to select a time zone in order to get to the Today screen. This is incredibly annoying. My T-Mobile Wing never had this issue, only the Touch Pro 2. I have had 3 TP2's, exchanging the first two because of this issue and now with the 3rd I am wondering if this is a known bug?
It seems to me the phone should be able to pick up the time zone from the carrier's network or at least remember which time zone I select so that I don't have to enter it each time.
I have tried soft resets, hard resets, all to no effect.
Does anyone have any thoughts on how to fix this?
Thanks,Bill
I've noticed this myself, though it's not every time, and in fact, there doesn't even seem to be a pattern to what causes it. It seems to USUALLY work just fine, and the time zone screen does only pop up on soft resets (or powering up from a full power-off state), but not every time I do so. I'd be interested to find out why, myself. Please let us know.
Has anybody ever found a solution to this? Mine started doing it about a week ago and it drives me nuts. Certainly it should be able to remember what time zone it is set to.
By the way, HTC --- I love this phone so much I recently bought the last 2 I could find for sale in the United States. Please, please, please, if you make a Windows 8 phone, base one on the TP2 with the sliding keyboard and stylus. There is still a big market for keyboard users and most phone companies are ignoring us.
