How to transfer music?

Answered (Not Verified)
  • I've had my HD2 for about a week. Had to return the first one due to freezing. The second one is freezing as well, but not nearly as often, and can deal with it, as I assume it's just like the Windows OS on my laptop that freezes occasionally.

My current question is since I received no manual with this phone, I don't know how to perform some tasks and settings. I need to know how to load my iTunes music on it. I figure it's going to be with the WMP , but how do I go about doing it? Can anyone else tell me how you got your music on the thing?

    Thanks!!!!!

  • Still new at this posting thing.  Won't let me delete this post.

  • Not sure about iTunes.  I use Winamp.  I justed pluged my phone into my laptop and opened wimap and it found my phone.  (I did have Activesync open, but not sure if it matters.)  Also, it auto saved the music  to my memory card.

P.S. you can download the maual here---->  www.htc.com/.../downloads

  • It took me a bit to figure it out too but just open WMP got to your SYNC tab and find your phone. Add playlist and Sync

  • The last page of your instruction book gives directions

    Transfer files to/from your PC

Connect the phone to the computer using the usb cable.  A notification icon appears in the status bar.

    Open the notifications panel.

In the Notifications panel, tap USB connected and then tap Mount.

On your computer, use File Explorer to locate the wireless device's storage card.

Start copying files to or from the wireless device.

When you do this then, and only then, will you see the phone icon on your computer.  You won't see the icon on itunes.  But you can drag and drop the music you want onto the drive that your phone is connected to.

Hope this makes sense to you.  We called tech support at Verizon to figure it out and understand it too.

  • I know 2 ways:  1) try to download or if you already have it, windows mobile device center you can set up you phone to make a partnership.  then when partnership set go to the second tab which should say add music or something like that....  anyways it'll open wmp and just go to the sync option and just drag your files to the right side of the player and in the bottom put sync files.  (Note: you can choose where to put the music storage card or phone memory. )

    2)  okay this one is a little simpler, just go to my computer and find the phone when you connect it to your pc.  open it ans it should have 2 drives:  storage card, and phone memory.  just open any one (which ever has enough space or wherever you wanna put it.) and it should have a music folder in each one.  just copy and paste your music in that folder and it should read your music.  (it will be alot easier if you have windows mobile device center)

  • when i use windows media player to transfer music to my htc hd2 via the mobile device centre, it works well.

except it shuffles the tracks inside the album. its very annoying when listening to albums that have been 'mixed'  by a DJ.

does anyone else have this problem?

and how do i fix it?
