Hi everybody,
I just got this bad boy HD2 and it is amazing. Like an idiot I deleted the contents that are in the sd card that came with it.
Now I am not able to see the Movie Transformers and also some games that came preloaded.
Anyone have any ideas what to do? Any place to reload the content? Movies, Games that came on board?
Any help will be appreciated. Thanks for helping!!
you could try the factory reset in the setting menu but you said it was in the sd card, so that might work. also see if it is in the trash can lol it might be there if you trashed it when ti was syc with your pc
If it was on the SD card a hard reset will not bring it back, only if it was part of the rom. If you deleted it, it is gone unless you can get your carrier to send you another pre-loaded card.
You are not missing anything. The games are trial, and the movies can be reloaded
How I just got it and deleted i,t lol by accident of course.
I did the exact same thing, can anyone post a url or give me some kind of information on how i can get this content back.
Well, I got my phone last Thrusday and none of the content was available on the card. I called Tmobile, they told me to call HTC and they would replace my SD card. I called HTC, they were great-sent me out a new card, I just got my card via Fed ex today!! I have to send my old one back and all is good. Everthing seems to work except MobiTv.
I guess I am gonna have to call them for support on this. I think this is the number Tmobile gave me for HTC. 800-868-3403. If this # doesnt work, here is the Tech help number 866-449-8358. If you have Tmobile you may call them first and play dumb-Tell them your card isn't giving you the data. I definately wouldn't tell them that you re-formatted the card though!! That is basically one of the first questions they asked me. Plus the guy at Tmobile told me that they are finding out that the SD card shouldn't be removed because some people are losing their data after removing the card from the phone, which is totally ridiculous as this is what an SD card is made for- removability. But this angle will probably work for you!! Good luck : )
The movies are pretty big but I will try to upload this week for you and post.
Did the exact thing, but I knew the risks..unfortunately you can't get em back, there's no coming back after formatting the card.
I spoke to T-Mobile about this yesterday. They told me that once you remove the SD card from the phone, the pre-loaded movies and games are automatically deleted. The only way to get them back is to purchase them. If you do purchase them and then subsequently remove the SD card, they will be deleted every time you remove the SD card. This is absolutely insane. The lesson learned here is DO NOT REMOVE YOUR SD CARD. Use bluetooth or connect a cable between your phone and your computer to upload/download anything.
First thing I did was make a backup of the card,if any of you are in st.paul / mlps mn I can load your card up with all the factory stuff.
Edit : swil...not true,I turned off the phone, made a backup on my HDD and have used it a few times since then.
@swil...that's definitely wrong...i've removed my sd card several and transformers is still there...even made a backup of my sd card on my laptop and another sd card...so removing it doesn't delete anything.
Sorry my friend "swil" but I have to agree with kbsc. I have removed my sd card numerous times and not a single file was ever -- even accidentally -- deleted, including the Transformers.
I called may phone carrier and exhaustively explained the painful situation that occurred. He quickly said this cannot be handled by them (t-mobile) that I had to contact HTC. I was given the 1-888-716-3594 number and called HTC. I then selected option 2 for Customer Care. The women I spoke with explained this is a known issue. They have a solution to replace the failed cards and a new shipment of cards is under order. The cards will not be available for another 2 weeks (the week of May 17th) because they are currently out of stock. HTC will gladly send out a new card with all the preloaded apps, demos, games and movies once the replacement cards arrive. They are not taking preorders, you simply need to call the customer care number above after the 17th of May to line up your replacement. I don't know the HTC policies surrounding this solution, it may be circumstantial based on the cause of your problem. For me, it works out that HTC will replace my SD Card.
I hope this helps everyone having the same problem with HD2 system resets wiping or corrupting your SD Card.
I had the same think happen. Actually started with "Can not Initialize Camer" error message. Then after reboot, would not take security pin, and after x number of wrong entries then did a hard reset, and then after than, SC Card was not reconized by phone (it actually "Unformatted" the card).
I was able to reformat the card to make usable again, but with no initial backup, lost everything (factory and other) installed on the SD Card.
Called HTC as described by slatiwonk, and they are sending replacement card (but they are out of stock current). This HAS to be a known problem if they are running out of replacement SD Cards. But they are replacing which is good. Only lost the 20+ hours of custom application installs, pictures and music that I'd loaded on the SD Card that died. Oh well.
