[分享] [開發者大會回顧]Red Pill AI動態補捉新革命

今天小編來帶大家回顧一下VIVE台北開發者大會上另一場精采的演講，邀請到Red Pill Lab團隊的執行長RH Shih來現場與開發者分享如何透過HTC的VR設備加上AI及動態捕捉，打造出最省錢的動態捕捉解決方案。Red Pill Lab是由三位來自計算器圖學、電腦視覺及連續創業家背景的創辦人所成立，致力於運用動作捕捉結合深度運算的技術來優化即時角色動畫及產出流程，藉以解決現有3D虛擬角色動畫製作費時、費力及高成本的問題。
RH表示過去在製作動作捕捉的過程中，你會需要找到一個極大的空曠空間，作為動態捕捉攝影棚，再花大約1個小時的時間將演員的身上及臉上貼上70個點，作為動作追蹤捕捉用。所以整個拍攝工作下來，包含場地、設備、人力等費用加一加，預計要花費新台幣5千萬元左右。需要投入的成本非常昂貴。
然而。透過Red Pill Lab所推出的Red Pill Live解決方案，只需要花費到傳統動態捕捉攝影棚的百分之一的費用。Red Pill Live解決方案，在硬體設備的需求僅需一套HTC VR設備（包括Vive基地台、Vive控制器及數個Vive移動定位器）、一套電腦及透過AI及演算法來分析人體身上六個追蹤點的位置，即可模擬出人體的骨架，來進行動態的追蹤，還可以藉由人聲來實時分析演員當下的臉型及表情，打造次世代動態捕捉。
目前在全球已經有許多合作夥伴採用了Red Pill live解決方案，使用在包括教育場景、即時動畫、互動劇場及動態補捉等應用上，像是大陸的谷得遊戲、日本的東映動畫、韓國的KBS電視台、及美國的Science VR科普教程。RH提到過去遊戲公司在製作殭屍的角色時，需要透過動畫師依照遊戲中殭屍所要呈現的方式及情境，一點一點地去調整。但採用Red Pill Live解決方案後，只要讓演員穿戴上Vive移動定位器及控制器，直接用演繹的方式，在遊戲中呈現更真實的殭屍動作及體態，並大幅節省遊戲動畫製作的時間。RH又提到在上海的一家動畫合作夥伴，將原本需要耗時2-3週的動畫製作時間，透過使用Red Pill Live解決方案後，只花了4小時就可以完成製作。
其實就是因為兩年前，RH因為參加了HTC在新店舉辦首次的Vive開發者大會，讓他開始思考VR在未來的發展可能性，也因為如此，他決定創立了Red Pill Lab。Red Pill Lab同時也是第三屆Vive X加速器入選團隊之一。如果對Vive X還有點陌生的開發者，Vive X藉由提供新創團隊專業知識及資金，協助打造、培育及強化全球VR生態圈。除了股權投資外，也提供新創團隊各項資源和專業指導，包括在策略規劃、業務開發、技術支援及行銷資源等，藉由HTC在營運上的經驗及能力協助團隊加速成熟。如果想了解更多Vive X的訊息，可以參考Vive X全球加速器網頁。
