To fix an error in querying Wi-Fi data usage on an HTC device, you can try the following steps:
1.    Check for software updates: Ensure that your HTC device has the latest software updates installed. Sometimes, outdated software can cause issues with querying Wi-Fi data usage.
2.    Reset Wi-Fi connection: Turn off your Wi-Fi connection, wait for a few seconds, and turn it back on. This can help refresh your Wi-Fi connection and may resolve any connection issues that could be causing the error.
3.    Clear cache: Clear the cache of the app that you are using to query Wi-Fi data usage. This can help remove any corrupted data that may be causing the issue.
4.    Restart device: Try restarting your HTC device. Sometimes, restarting the device can help resolve any temporary glitches.
5.    Reset network settings: If none of the above steps work, try resetting your network settings. This will remove any saved Wi-Fi networks, passwords, and other network-related settings, so make sure to have this information on hand before proceeding.
If the issue persists, you may need to contact HTC customer support or your service provider for further assistance.
I have personally experienced this error while playing a popular game called stumble guys and follow the above steps and my issue is resolved.

If you're encountering an error when querying Wi-Fi data usage, it could stem from several sources—whether it's a device-specific issue, a software bug, or a connectivity problem. Here's a step-by-step guide to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
1. Check for Software Updates

  • Android: Go to Settings→ System→ Software updateand check if there are any pending updates.
  • iPhone/iPad: Go to Settings→ General→ Software Update.
  • PC (Windows): Go to Settings→ Update & Security→ Windows Update.
  • Mac: Go to System Preferences→ Software Update.
Updating your device can resolve bugs related to network connectivity and data tracking.
2. Clear App Data (If Using a Data Usage App)If you're using a third-party app to track your Wi-Fi data usage, the app's data may have become corrupted.
  • Android:
    • Go to Settings→ Apps→ Find your data usage app → Storage→ Clear Data/ Clear Cache.
  • iOS: Unfortunately, iOS does not allow for clearing app data directly. You can try reinstalling the app.
3. Check Network and Data Usage Settings
  • Android:
    • Go to Settings→ Network & Internet→ Data Usage→ Wi-Fi Data Usage.
    • Ensure that the "Data usage" is set up correctly and is tracking Wi-Fi usage.
  • iOS:
    • Go to Settings→ Cellular→ Scroll down to Wi-Fi Assist. If it's turned on, it might interfere with Wi-Fi data usage tracking by switching to cellular data when Wi-Fi is unstable.
4. Reboot Your DeviceA simple reboot can sometimes resolve network issues or data tracking errors.
  • Rebooting on Android or iOS: Hold the power button, and select the restart option.
  • On Windows/Mac: Restart your computer to resolve any temporary connectivity issues.
5. Check Wi-Fi Network SettingsSometimes, a router or network issue can interfere with data usage tracking.
  • Ensure you are connected to the correct Wi-Fi network.
  • Check if the router is having any issues (eg, low signal strength or network overload).
  • Try forgetting and reconnecting to the Wi-Fi network:
    • Android/iOS: Go to Settings→ Wi-Fi, select the network, and choose Forget. Then reconnect by entering the Wi-Fi password.
    • PC/Mac: Forget the Wi-Fi network and reconnect.
6. Reset Network SettingsResetting your network settings can help clear any configuration errors that might be affecting data usage tracking.
  • Android: Go to Settings→ System→ Reset→ Reset Wi-Fi, mobile & Bluetooth.
  • iOS: Go to Settings→ General→ Reset→ Reset Network Settings.
  • Windows: Go to Settings→ Network & Internet→ Status→ Network Reset.
  • Mac: Go to System Preferences→ Network→ Click on Wi-Fi→ Advanced→ Delete the network and reconnect.
7. Check Router for Usage Limits or QoS SettingsIf you're using a home router to monitor data usage, make sure:
  • Your router isn't imposing any limits or quotas that could cause issues with data tracking.
  • Quality of Service (QoS) settings on the router are not limiting Wi-Fi data or causing interruptions.
8. Reinstall the Wi-Fi Data App (if applicable)If you're using a third-party app to track Wi-Fi usage, try uninstalling and reinstalling the app to ensure it is functioning properly.
9. Check for Third-Party ConflictsSometimes, other apps (eg, VPNs, firewalls, or network managers) might interfere with data usage tracking. Try disabling or uninstalling any such apps to check if they are the cause.
10. Check Carrier or ISP Data Usage PoliciesIf you are using a mobile hotspot or an internet service provider's (ISP) app to track data usage, verify that the service is correctly reporting data. Sometimes ISPs have known bugs or delays in tracking usage, especially during peak hours or if there's a system error.
11. Contact SupportIf all else fails and the problem persists, you might need to contact the device or app's support team for further assistance. They may be able to provide specific troubleshooting steps based on the device or software version you're using. For more info visit this site

Following these steps should help resolve issues with querying Wi-Fi data usage. Let me know if you need more details or run into any problems during troubleshooting!
