宏達電(2498-TW)積極布局虛擬實境(VR)領域，預計今年底推出HTC Vive，全球巡迴體驗正熱烈進行中，宏達電今(19)日宣布將在年度網球盛會2015美國網球公開賽(2015 U.S. Open Tennis Championship)場外設置虛擬實境體驗區，球迷可透過HTC Vive，親身體驗世界排名第二的女子網球選手瑪麗亞．莎拉波娃(Maria Sharapova)擊球的速度與力道，近距離感受世界級球星的風采，一圓與世界網壇名將同場競技的夢想。
宏達電指出，2015美國網球公開賽預計8月31日至9月13日在美國紐約USTA國家網球中心(USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center)舉辦，將會在場外設置虛擬實境體驗區，讓球迷體驗HTC Vive；莎拉波娃也親自戴上HTCVive，體驗虛擬實境的真實感。
宏達電表示，俄羅斯網球運動員瑪麗亞．莎拉波娃，單打排名最高到世界排名第一，是全世界年收入最高的女子運動員，年僅18歲就登上世界第一，因出眾的外型及球技而出名。
宏達電說，莎拉波娃在國際女子網球聯賽及法國網球聯賽拿下無數次冠軍，生涯至今已累積拿下5座大滿貫女子單打冠軍，更獲得年度卓越運動獎最佳女網球員等殊榮，現今單打排名世界第2。
莎拉波娃最大的優點在於她堅韌不屈的心態和不甘人後的精神，常常在比賽演出逆轉，網壇名宿給莎拉波娃的評價為，「對於他來說，比賽到了最後握手才算結束」。
