I think that maybe it's just because there are so many people around the world using Desire 816. I remember 816 has been one of those best-selling products. So this time it's kind of reasonable for 816 to get Android 6 earlier than E8/Eye

I'm a user of E8. So I'm just like you, still waiting for it.

The European Desire 816's Android M Update Version is 6.0, not the newest one (Android 6.0.1), and the author also said this is the last major update for Desire 816.

And the author also said Desire EYE will get the Android 6.0.1 update before, this is newer than Desire 816's version. Also, the Taiwan's HTC eShop's FB page said Desire EYE will get Android M update soon last two weeks, so I think Desire EYE will get Android 6.0.1's update soon in Taiwan, maybe before the end of this month.
