To successfully back up your HTC 20, including device settings and applications, follow these steps:
- Check Backup Settings:
- Go to Settings > System > Backup on your HTC 20.
- Ensure that the "Back up to Google Drive" option is turned on.
- Manually Start a Backup:
- Still in Settings > System > Backup , tap Back up now to manually start the backup process. This should include apps, app data, and settings.
- Use HTC Backup (if available):
- If HTC Backup is available on your device, go to Settings > Backup & reset and ensure that HTC Backup is enabled. This service can back up your device settings, apps, and more.
- Check App-Specific Backup:
- Some apps may require you to back up data individually. Open the apps and look for a backup option within their settings.
- Check Storage Space:
- Ensure you have enough Google Drive storage space. If you're low on space, you may need to free up some or upgrade your storage plan.
- Update System and Apps:
- Make sure your device software and all apps are up to date. Sometimes backup issues can be resolved by updating.
- Factory Reset (Last Resort):
- If backups still aren't working after trying these steps, consider performing a factory reset as a last resort. But remember to manually back up important files like photos and documents before doing this.
