中華電信與全球智慧型手機暨虛擬實境創新設計領導者HTC，5/14日宣布共同打造VR創新應用服務，布局5G多元內容。於5G服務推出後，透過5G高速率、低延遲的特性，結合中華電信最大頻寬與最佳頻位的優勢及HTC首屈一指的VR虛擬實境技術及平台，創造劇院般的VR影音沉浸式體驗。中華電信亦獨家提供精采絕倫的酷炫高畫質4K、VR的演唱會內容，讓消費者感受身歷其境的現場演出效果。
面對5G新浪潮，中華電信與HTC持續緊密合作，除了日前完成三地VR遠程會議，取得2020策略合作共識，此次雙方影音內容平台亦展開合作，積極拓展多樣化的VR應用服務領域，預計未來將持續透過多元的策略產品合作，建構端到端5G產業鏈，帶動產業升級！

中華電信行動通信分公司總經理陳明仕表示：「中華電信持續開創5G新局，此次率先宣布與HTC結盟合作，於5G服務推出後，將拓展VR虛擬應用領域至遊戲、影視、導覽、教育、藝術等內容，進而打造更優質、嶄新的4K與VR影音體驗。中華電信長期致力研發嶄新的優質服務，將引領台灣資通訊產業邁向5G新世代，共創價值！」
HTC台灣區總經理陳柏諭表示：「未來5G時代所帶來的相關應用將會跳脫我們的想像，為我們的生活帶來無限的可能，中華電信與HTC持續宏觀布局5G，預計5G服務推出後，民眾在家戴上HTC頭戴式顯示器，即可享受有如身歷其境的優質串流影音內容。未來不僅可即時提供高品質的VR內容，更能延伸發展更多雲端產業鏈應用。」
中華電信在5G首波釋照中，於3.5GHz及28GHz兩個頻段皆取得最大頻寬與最佳的頻位，將持續建構最大頻寬、最廣涵蓋的4G/5G行動寬頻網路，與國內產業夥伴建立生態圈，以客戶需求為導向，提供精彩可期的5G創新服務！
